What course are you (or were you) studying?

Diploma of Business (major in fashion).

Tell us a little bit about your journey to become a fashion student.

I had always wanted to work in fashion but I had told myself it wasn’t a realistic dream. After a period of poor health I moved to Australia for a fresh start and with the push I’d needed to believe in myself and persue my dreams. I chose Orana as I’ve never thrived in a classroom environment and new the small class sizes and knowledgeable industry experts would help me.

What career path are you hoping to step into?

I hope to one day be a Creative Director in the industry as well as owning a styling business. I have so much passion and a head full of ideas and Orana is finally giving me the confidence to action things.

What do you love most about being a fashion student?

I love the Fashion Masterclasses Orana holds for us. Learning about all the different aspects within the industry from photography, styling, lighting etc really helps you have a greater overall understanding and respect for everyone involved in create processes.

What are some of your favourite Orana memories and experiences so far?

Our Creative Direction Unit taught by Maggie from the Iconic has been really inspiring. We have spent the term planning and organising our own shoot it’s been amazing to have her supporting us and helpings grow our ideas into reality. I have found the confidence to really go for it and now have a full scale photoshoot collaboration with industry professionals planned.

Do you have any advice or tips for future students looking to enrol with Orana?

Orana has so many opportunities and if you have the passion to take them and give it your all it’s the best stepping stone and learning environment for a successful entry to the industry.
