“The opportunities students are given in Shoot Week is 100% my most valued part of the course to me, students are given full creative freedom to bring a visual image to life and are provided the resources to do so.”
What course are you (or were you) studying?
Diploma of Social Media Marketing (major in fashion, beauty & lifestyle)
Tell us a little bit about your journey to become a fashion student.
I have always had a passion for finding creative ways to express myself and my passions in life. I have always felt that the fashion industry was the industry that would allow me to delve deeper into that passion of mine. I attended an Orana Open Day when I was 14 and knew straight away that this was the place for me. After meeting teachers and other students, I saw the importance of surrounding myself in a positive environment filled with different personalities among hard working individuals. I find that was a pivotal reason as to why I chose Orana to complete my studies with.
What career path are you hoping to step into?
My end goal is to own my own business, something that resembles creative expression and promotes individuality. I also would love to find myself working in event management especially for Milan and New York Fashion Week.
What do you love most about being a fashion student?
The opportunities students are given in Shoot Week is 100% my most valued part of the course to me, students are given full creative freedom to bring a visual image to life and are provided the resources to do so. It’s a really interesting thing to experience, seeing your peers express their own passions and encouraging you to do the same. Everyone helps out with each others shoots and I find it to be a really rewardable experience each term.
What are some of your favourite Orana memories and experiences so far?
My Internship with BLANCA Studios during Australian Fashion Week 2024 was such a cool thing to be able to experience, especially at my age. Being given the opportunity to network with so many influential people in the fashion industry was an amazing experience. Memories as simple as content walks with my class and our trainer Ayla are moments I”ll cherish after graduating.
