Diploma of Social Media Marketing (major in fashion, beauty & lifestyle)

Tell us a little bit about your journey to become a fashion student.

I have always loved fashion and design since I was a kid, so after I completed year 10 at school and an earlier TAFE course, I felt it would be a great idea to finally enrol in something that would help me further my interest in the fashion industry. I also felt that Orana would provide me with many opportunities in the industry and help me pursue a career in fashion, so I chose to enrol there.

What career path are you hoping to step into?

At the moment I don't have a specific career path I am 100% interested in or dedicated to, I am just exploring each pathway and trying to get as much information as I can in the hopes that it will help me find a pathway I am passionate about.

What do you love most about being a fashion student?

I love the ability to learn about and create multiple forms of content during our classes, having that freedom to express ourselves through our work is really fun to do. These practical activities are one of my favourite parts about the course.

What are some of your favourite Orana memories and experiences so far?

Some of my favourite Orana memories have got to be going to my first fashion show during fashion week and playing around in the studio during shoot week!

Do you have any advice or tips for future students looking to enrol with Orana?

My advice for future Orana students is to follow your passion and take that risk.

What are your career goals and how does Orana help you to achieve them?

My career goal is to eventually work in the fashion industry. I feel the course I am studying at the moment will educate me and give me enough experience to help me figure out a certain career pathway I will take within the fashion industry.

Did you volunteer or attend Fashion Week this year? How was your experience getting a taste of the Industry?

I did have the opportunity to attend Fashion Week this year thanks to Orana helping me get an internship with a brand that was doing a show in Fashion Week. Overall the whole internship and the Fashion Week event was amazing, I learnt so much and I got to experience so much as I worked with a brand in their preparation for their Fashion Week show.

I enjoyed my time getting a taste of working in the industry because it was very engaging , exciting and hands on which I love!
